Welcome

In a vibrantly renovated character home in the historic Nutana neighbourhood of our bridge city (Saskatoon) resides the sanctuary for my Private Studio practice: the moonSHALA.

For private-sessions, I’ll greet you with a cheerful mug of warm water or choice of a special-brew from my herbal garden before we settle into the studio for practice together.

“Shala” can translate from Sanskrit to mean “house of yoga”; this space is where my personal study & practice occurs from morning meditations & mantra, to connecting with my formal Teachers online & in person, and where my daily postural & teaching practices are held. This home is imbued with the life of living my yoga, and is welcome for you to enjoy & experience in support of your own study & its possibilities.

The Studio is 350 square feet on the main floor of a (2016) modern-style addition at the rear of the original 1912 house. There is a separate entrance accessible up 3-steps from the sidewalk, and she boasts heated wide-plank wood flooring, extra large bright windows, and 13′ ceilings; creating a warm and open, peaceful boutique atmosphere. You have easy access to the newly renovated (2025) washroom up just 3-steps and down the hall.

All props for practice are present including a yoga-therapy wall (a gift from Saskatoon’s OG JNSyoga Studio). Feel welcome to bring your own yoga-mat, blanket(s) or other yoga-props, or personal eye-pillow if you prefer. Dress in warm layers for winter, and cool layers for summer months.

“My home is where intuition has a place at the table, creativity invited to flow, and the great mystery to do whatever it is the great mystery does. In the Studio space practice is key, and intention is set for compassionate study.” -Sandhi

hello Schrodinger!

*cleaning of our home is thorough & regular, there is a top-line air purifier installed on site, and this handsome devil is not usually present during sessions; but those who have allergies to cats may want to inquire about an alternate location.

Enjoy a colourful journey through the doors of perception…

After over 30 years of practicing & Teaching in Public Studio environments, Gyms, Dojos, Schools, Church Basements, Chapels, and Libraries, it is truly a joy to bring my yoga & Teaching practice to where my heart resides at home; moving in 2025 made this a reality, and has been one of the more natural decisions of my life so far.

At my previous Studio location in Saskatoon (the 1930’s convent-built Oshun House chapel, closed in 2025) I often lightheartedly revealed at Sound Baths how it would feel like a whole chorus from history was my backup-singers… place can carry with it a sensibility that can be felt. In a very short time (due to my personal intensity of this nature) this home & Studio have become imbued with the vibrancy which comes from being the primary space of my entire yoga study sphere; as your yoga Teacher & Sound guide, as a yoga student online with my Teachers (Tias Little, yoga; Kiya Mindlin, Vedic philosophy; Judith Lasater, yoga), as a yoga-practitioner on the mat, as I work from home as an Archivist/Information Architect, and in my extracurricular work in Anthropology, Vedic Astrology, Philosophy, Psychology, Art History and Religious studies.

My partner, Micheal, and I are true homebodies as well as yoga practitioners. He gardens & cooks marvellously (while not tinkering with the 1976 VW van or the boiler, a side-effect of his work in HVAC Engineering), practices Aikido across the Street at the Albert Community Hall, and we both enjoy the quiet life of nurturing our house-plants & cat (our adult-son now living on his own), reading, walking, and discussing life’s events and ideas with friends & folk at the Dining table.

While our private spaces are kept private (closed doors), sharing the atmosphere of our calm & simple bespoke lives is what I believe to be a balm for the soul in these times. It is a gift & a dear responsibility to have & share this home as an entire modern lifestyle in alignment with our yoga-centred knowledge & practice. It used to be that to study seriously, one would live on-site with the Teacher… and this Shala is an intentional bridge to those ideals in situ.
